Treat yourself to some TLC

Treat yourself!

With 2020 in our rear-view mirror, we thought we had it sweet when 2021 cruised in. But it soon felt like a nasty case of déjà vu.

It’s been a hard journey for everyone during this extended lockdown. But with restrictions easing, we now truly appreciate the smaller things in life. Like simply being able to embrace loved ones, socialise with friends or enjoy a bit of shopping and a bite to eat outdoors.

So to help you fill up your social calendar and have you feeling yourself again, here’s our list of top things to do.

Schedule a hair appointment
Now that our barber shop and hair salons are open again, say goodbye to uneven haircuts and at-home colour treatments gone wrong. It’s time to let the professionals work their magic. Make an appointment at Christiane’s Hair Design, Just Cuts or Barber Industries for a fresh new look.

Book a spa day
After weeks of neglecting our nails, skin and hair, it’s definitely time to give ourselves a bit of a pamper.
Organise a self-care day and once you’re done with the basics, why not even get a facial or massage as well?

Head over to ProfessioNail, Blush Nails & Beauty or Sunny Life Massage for some much needed TLC.

Enjoy a bite to eat
It has definitely been convenient having food delivered during lockdown. But it’s usually the atmosphere that we enjoy while eating out that makes the meal special. So why not catch-up with a friend in a casual and social setting. Check out what’s new at our food retailers while supporting a local business.

Head to Cobb & Co Carvery, Sushi HubSpears Café, Subway, Donut King, Chicky Boss, Soul Origin, Ala Sultan, Give it a Shot Coffee and Cakes.

Throw a dinner party
We’ve had enough of video calls with family and friends for one year. So why not host a dinner party (or a lunch party) at your place and call the whole crew over. Better yet, escape from your home environment and enjoy an al fresco catch-up at a local park.

To help set the table, check out the collection of placemats and table runners Big W has to offer. They also have a great range of party supplies to create that festive spirit.

Go out on a date
Now’s the perfect time to grab your special someone and enjoy all that the outside world has to offer.
Plan a romantic picnic by the Hawkesbury River or go for a bush walk and take in our native land.

For the picnic basket, head over to Woolworths for all the cheese board essentials and then to Bakers Delight for some crusty sourdough bread.

We’ve got breakfast all sorted for the morning after with our romantic Buttermilk Pancakes With Honey-Glazed Apples.

Enjoy a lazy morning together with this quick and easy recipe.

Host a movie night
For a fun social night, enjoy the company of friends or family over to watch a movie.
Swing by Sanity for a great selection of movies and head into Woolworths or The Reject Shop for all the munchies.

Plan a games night
There’s something special about gathering with friends and playing games. It’s a fabulous way to unwind while making lasting memories. From the classics like Janga, Twister, Pictionary and Monopoly to newbies like Never have I ever, Cards against humanity and Mario Kart, we’re sure you’ll have a fun night with loads of laughter.

Head over to EB Games for a wide range of PC, XBOX, Playstation and Nintendo Switch games. Or check out  Big W and Sanity for all the essential board games.

Enjoy easing back into the community and spending loads of time with family and friends. Stay safe!
